Gospel singer Ruth Matete is finally back on social media after taking a brief hiatus following the death of her husband in April this year.
While announcing her come back a few days back, Matete asked netizens to be kind with their words.
“Taking a day at a time. Please be kind with your words. It’s Not easy for me to be back on social media. But life has to go on,” she said
She also announced that she has started a YouTube channel where she intends to inspire and give hope to those undergoing difficulties in life through the page dubbed “Pst. Ruth Matete”
In the said channel she also promised to be as candid as possible on different issues and subjects.
In a separate post on Instagram she revealed how she questioned God on her husband’s passing but revealed that she has now created peace with what happened.
She however said it is still difficult for her at times and just like any other person, she still cries over the loss.
“One day I asked God why me, and He asked me who I would wish to go through it in my stead. That’s when I stopped asking why me and instead asked God to show me the reason why He allowed me to face it. Because I know nothing catches Him by surprise. And all things work together for good, to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. It’s a few months since my late husband went to be with his maker, and I can candidly tell you, that I now understand why God allowed me to go through it. Do I still cry? Yes. But it gets better with time. I have made up my mind not to waste my pain. God must and will be glorified through my pain,” she said
Ruth laid her late husband to rest on July 23 at Langata Cemetery. She is expecting her first child soon.
