The ruling party United Democratic Alliance (UDA)’s Internal Dispute Resolution Committee has upheld the removal of Waithaka MCA Anthony Karanja Kiragu and his Umoja One counterpart Mark Mugambi from their positions as minority leader and minority whip respectively in the Nairobi County Assembly.
The two MCAs had contested their removal from leadership roles within the UDA Party, citing procedural irregularities and unfair treatment.
However, the committee concluded that the removal process was carried out in compliance with party regulations and standing orders.
“The removal of the complainants from their respective leadership positions of the County Assembly of Nairobi was procedural,” ruled the committee’s chairperson, Rebecca Tonkei.
The committee said the installation of South B MCA Waithera Chege and Githurai MCA Deonysias Mwangi to the positions of minority leader and minority whip, thus, followed due process.
