A police officer attached to the Diplomatic Police Unit was the victim of a robbery in Kiambaa area in Kiambu County in the early hours of Sunday, November 3.
According to a police report, the officer identified as Stanley Kipterer, had left his residence at Bypass area near Ruaka at 4:30am and was on his way to work.
The DPU is a specialised unit whose officers provide security to diplomats and the diplomatic community.
In Kiambaa area, he decided to deposit Sh1,500 at a local Mpesa shop but was accosted by three unknown men who hit him on the head with a blunt object and stabbed him on the torso with a sharp object.
The assailants managed to rob him of the Sh1,500 and his Samsung A23 mobile phone before fleeing the scene.
Passers-by who later found the officer lying by the roadside rushed him to Nairobi West Hospital for medical attention.
According to the police report, the officer is currently in a stable condition.
