MultiChoice Kenya is offering its DStv and GOtv customers new promotional subscription options aimed at locking in subscribers to its pay TV services.
MultiChoice Kenya managing director Nancy Matimu said the DStv Step-Up promotion and the GOtv Changamkia Maximum Discount that was launched Thursday will run until March 31.
Under the new promotional price changes, DStv subscribers currently on the low-end tariff plan dubbed Access that cost Sh1,000 a month can pay Family charges which is Sh1,380 to watch the Compact package that goes for Sh2,650 per month.
Subscribers to the Family tariff can pay the Compact charges to enjoy the Compact Plus channels that goes for Sh4,800 per month.
Those who are currently subscribed to Compact package will be required to pay for Compact Plus package to watch the Premium (most expensive) tariff that goes for Sh7,900 per month.
Under the GOtv Changamkia Maximum Discount, an active or a disconnected GOtv Lite, Value and Plus customer, can upgrade their packages to GOtv Max at a discounted rate of only Sh890.
Once payment is made, customers will be upgraded to GOtv Max within 48 hours.
The introduction of a promotional subscription charges by Multi Choice Kenya comes at a time DStv has tightened its grip on the Kenyan pay TV market, aided by exclusive content.
