A headless body of a woman suspected to have gone missing for days has been found in Kitutu Chache South, Kisii.
It is believed Hellen Angwenyi, 64, was killed by her abductors on Tuesday.
One hand was also missing.
The deceased had disappeared from her home three days ago leading to a search that led to her body getting discovered.
Area chief Elijah Ongera said the body was in a bad shape as it had started decomposing.
“Looks like she was also killed elsewhere before the killers brought the body to the site and dumped it here,” he said.
“Whoever did this may have sneaked the body at night and left it here.”
The body was later picked up by police and taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue.
Separately, police in Gesonso are investigating an incident where a man defiled his daughter, 13, on Wednesday.
Her body had machete cuts in the neck and hands.
The man has since been arrested as the probe continues.
He is said to have sneaked into the bedroom where the minor slept and defiled her.
He will be arraigned in court on Friday.
