Women all over social media are celebrating #NoBraDay, a campaign to raise awareness about breast cancer and in Kenya, Senator Millicent Omanga was not left behind in commemorating this day.
Omanga shared her braless photos on social media pages while at the sametime encouraged other ladies to go without wearing their bras.
“Today is NO BRA DAY, leading by example i want to encourage my fellow ladies to forgo wearing bra to encourage Breast Cancer awareness and show support to survivors,” she wrote.
The No Bra Day is a day set aside to raise awareness for the importance of breast cancer screening, recognizing the symptoms of breast cancer and regular self-examinations in the fight against breast cancer, by encouraging women to leave their bras at home – literally.
The day encourages women around the world to ditch their bras to raise awareness for this disease.
The holiday used to be celebrated on July 9 of every year since 2011 but was moved to the 13th day of October — National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The social media hashtag #NoBraDay resurfaces every October 13 and women share photos of them wearing no bras all over the social platforms.
