The early Monday morning incident caused a huge traffic snarl up, with motorists taking to social media to air their grievances.
The accident, which happened just after General Motors, involved multiple vehicles, blocking the lanes.
In a statement, the Moja Expressway Company said operations are back to normal after the scene was cleared.
“Motorists are now informed of resumption of normal operations after a recent accident that has been swiftly cleared by the Police and RACM.”
According to the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), a total of 3,090 Kenyans have either died or sustained injuries in road accidents from January 1 to February 11, 2024.
According to statistics released by the authority, 563 of the victims have succumbed, 1,403 have been seriously injured and 1,124 have been slightly injured.
