Singer Jacob Obunga a.k.a. Otile Brown has been singing and writing songs since he was 13 years old and his resilience ad efforts are finally paying off.
Since his breakthrough in the music industry in 2016, he has been nominated for several awards including the Afrimma Awards, Kisima Awards, Pulse Music Awards and SoundCity MVP Awards. Now Dusuma, one of Otile’s most popular songs has become the country’s most watched music video (on YouTube).
His latest video release is ‘Baby Go’, an Afropop jam that’s already doing major rounds. Taking to his Social Media to share the good news about his views, Otile expressed love and appreciation for his fans. “We acknowledge and appreciate the love & support that y’all show us … till the wheels fall off ????” he said.
Dusuma which features artiste Meddy, currently has 26.2 million views. What’s more, his collaboration with Sanaipei Tande on the song ‘Chaguo la moyo’ comes in second place for the most viewed Kenyan music video with 25.7 million views.
He took to Instagram and thanked Meddy and Sanaipei for featuring in the songs, as well as Kenyans for supporting his music.

In 2020, Otile Brown, real name Jacob Obunga, emerged as the most-streamed Kenyan artist on Boomplay, according to the company’s music fact report.
His album, ‘Just in Love’, released in June last year, also clinched the top streamed album in Kenya.
