President William Ruto has appointed Munyori Buku as the Head of Presidential Communications.
Buku brings over 26 years of senior-level experience in strategic communication within both the public and private sectors.
Before this appointment, he served as the Secretary for Public Communication at the State House.
Mr Buku’s appointment was confirmed by State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed in a press release sent to newsrooms on Wednesday.
Before his new appointment, Mr Buku was the Secretary for Public Communication at State House.
“Mr Buku brings over 26 years of senior-level experience in strategic communication with both public and private sectors,” Mr Mohamed said.
He served as Senior Director of Public Communication at State House during President Uhuru Kenyatta’s regime between 2013 and 2022.
The official has also served as Director of Communication in the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Ministry of Defence between 2010 and 2013.
He was the Editorial Manager at the Kenya Yearbook Editorial Board.
He served as a Managing Editor at The Standard Group, Sub-Editor at the Nation Media Group, among other senior roles in the newsrooms.
Mr Buku holds a postgraduate diploma in Mass Communication from the University of Nairobi (UoN) and a Bachelor of Education (Arts) from Kenyatta University.
