The caravan proceeded left Lee Funeral home on Wednesday and is expected to make stops at various institutions that defined the late Education CS George Magoha.
The procession left the Nigeria High Commission and made its way to KNEC headquarters minutes before noon and made its way to the school.
Family, friends and education personnel are among those in the convoy. They were met by students who queued on either side of the road to welcome the procession.
After short prayers, the procession left for the University of Nairobi.
The farewell caravan has passed through significant places in Magoha’s life including the College of Health Sciences at the University of Nairobi and the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) Offices.
Magoha will be laid to rest at his home in Umiru Nyamninia, Yala, on February 11, 2023.
In a press release, Julius Jwan, the Family and Funeral Planning Committee Spokesperson said the funeral mass will take place on February 11 at Odera Akang’o University campus in Yala.
In the lead-up to the interment, a series of solemn funeral events have been planned to celebrate the life of the late Magoha.
On February 9, a requiem mass will be held at the Consolata Shrine, Westlands, and on February 10, a procession and holy mass will take place at Township Primary School and St Mary’s Secondary School in Yala.
