Kenyans applying for a visa to the United Kingdom will now wait for 15 days for it to be processed after a new upgraded TLS Contact Visa Application Centre was launched in Nairobi on Monday.
UK Visas and Immigration Director for Visits and International Network Dominique Hardy during the launch also unveiled another service, the Super Priority Visa service.
Hardy who is visiting Kenya this week announced that the UK visas will now be printed in Nairobi and the visa service is back within normal customer service standards of 15 working days.
She however encouraged customers to still apply early in the run-up to the British Summer Peak period.
The new service has been made possible by improvements and modernisation of UKVI processes.
It enables customers purchasing the service to get a decision on their application the next working day.
Hardy further said that “we are now able to offer the Super Priority Next Day Visa service in Kenya as part of our continuous efforts to improve our service offer to our customers. I would like to thank your commercial partner TLSContact for their support in making this possible.”
British High Commissioner to Kenya, Jane Marriott on her part said that the return to in-country printing in Nairobi is a mark of respect and demonstrates our commitment to the Kenya-UK Strategic Partnership.
“Our people form a key part of that partnership and I’m delighted we are able to offer an improved visa service in Kenya,” she added.
Hardy is on a one-day visit to Nairobi as part of a wider regional trip.
She is meeting with government officials, members of the business community and colleagues at the British High Commission.
