Launched just a few weeks ago the upcoming Dubai Vision board Party has continued to excite Kenyans with all the tour and business opportunities it comes with.
One of the key spots that the trip will visit is Deira, where participants will get a chance to do a guided shopping experience. So what is the history of Deira and what’s the shopping experience like?
Deira is a historical district located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is the oldest existing settlement in the city, having been established in the mid-19th century by the Bani Yas tribe.
The district was originally an area of small fishing and pearl-diving villages, and over the years it grew to become a major commercial hub, with a bustling souk and vibrant markets.
Deira has seen a lot of development in recent years, but it still retains its old-world charm and traditional architecture.
The area is home to many historical sites such as the Deira Clocktower and the Dubai Museum, as well as a variety of modern attractions. Deira is the perfect place to explore the rich history of Dubai.
This versatile district is divided into two distinct areas – the old Deira and the new Deira.
The old Deira is located in the northern part of the city and is home to some of the oldest and most traditional buildings in the city. This area is full of narrow alleyways and winding streets and is a great place to experience the unique culture of the city.
The new Deira is located in the south and is much more modern and luxurious. This area is home to some of the most exclusive shopping malls, restaurants, and hotels in the world.
When it comes to shopping, Deira is simply unbelievable, it has an excess of variety for almost everything you are looking for. From gold, spices, and unique textiles to perfumes with a very rich history.
However, if you are hunting for a bargain the Deira is the place for you. Discount shops dot the entire district with various areas specialising in electronics or cosmetics while other streets specialize in general merchandise.
