American YouTuber MrBeast has announced plans to invest around $120 million in content production this year.
In a recent interview with fellow YouTuber Jon Youshaei, MrBeast revealed that the budget will cover the production of thirty videos. “From buying private islands to building cities, I just want to be the most subscribed channel,” he said. MrBeast emphasized that his content is driven by viewer happiness.
“The reason why 100 million people keep coming back every video is because we try to constantly prioritize what they want and what makes them happy.”
“Views and performance matter, but ultimately, we are just trying to make the audience happy and I want to give them videos that they will like,” he added.
The 26-year-old internet sensation has produced numerous videos with unique and extravagant concepts, such as building skyscrapers and locking individuals in a room to win money, which he described as some of his most intriguing projects. For one project, he used 300 cameras and generated petabytes of content (a petabyte is equivalent to 1,000 terabytes).
During the interview, MrBeast explained that while most of his ideas are original, some are “Copy and taste.” “This is where I elevate the idea, share the credit, and blend it from many sources, as compared to copying and pasting where one imitates the idea, takes all the credit, and acquires the video from one source,” he explained.
According to ViewStats, MrBeast has accumulated over 49 billion views, generating an estimated income of $1.9 to $5.3 million per video.
