In a harrowing discovery, authorities in Brazil uncovered the lifeless body of Flávia dos Santos, 44, concealed inside a refrigerator, exposing a horrific crime scene in the northeastern city of Maceió.
According to reports from the Alagoas Civil Police, dos Santos met her untimely demise following a confrontation with her 13-year-old daughter and the daughter’s 22-year-old boyfriend at their residence.
The daughter, whose identity is protected due to her status as a minor, was apprehended along with her boyfriend on Tuesday, March 5. The boyfriend, whose name remains undisclosed, admitted to the murder, while his 47-year-old father was also arrested for aiding in hiding the body.
Alagoas Civil Police chief Thiago Prado revealed that the boyfriend faces charges including murder, concealment of a corpse, and corruption of a minor.
The tragic incident unfolded last Friday night when dos Santos returned home from work and confronted her daughter’s boyfriend, whom she had previously forbidden from visiting their home in Maceió’s Jacintinho neighborhood.
Reportedly, dos Santos objected to her daughter’s relationship with the boyfriend and opposed the idea of her daughter moving in with him. The disagreement escalated into violence, culminating in dos Santos being struck in the head before the boyfriend allegedly inflicted fatal stab wounds upon her with a knife.
According to the daughter’s account, her mother handed the knife to her boyfriend during the altercation, who proceeded to attack dos Santos in various areas of her body.
Following the heinous act, the couple cleaned the bloodstains from the floor and fled the scene to seek refuge at a rented residence.
Subsequently, the boyfriend’s father assisted them in concealing dos Santos’ body, which was wrapped in a blanket, inside a refrigerator. The body remained there until Tuesday when he instructed his son to dispose of it.
