As the Holy Month of Ramadan approaches, Emirates is gearing up to embody the spirit of togetherness and generosity by offering a range of special services and amenities for fasting passengers.
Ramadan Refreshments in Lounges
At the Emirates lounges in Dubai International Airport (DXB), passengers can indulge in traditional Arabic sweets, dates, and coffee. First and Business Class lounges will feature a delectable array of hot and cold Arabic mezze, lentil soup, main courses like Arabic mixed grill and chicken kabsa, and desserts such as kunafa and baklawa. Dedicated prayer rooms and ablution facilities ensure a serene atmosphere for worship.
Emirates Iftar Boxes at Boarding Gates
Select Emirates boarding gates will offer complimentary iftar boxes containing water, laban, a banana, and dates to assist fasting customers in breaking their fast during iftar time.
Captain Announcements of Iftar Time
Emirates employs a unique tool to calculate the correct timings for imsak and iftar while in-flight, ensuring accuracy for fasting Muslim passengers. Captains will officially announce iftar time when the sun sets, allowing passengers to break their fast.
Ramadan Meal Boxes Onboard
Starting from March 11, passengers across all cabin classes traveling to select destinations will receive nutritionally balanced Ramadan meal boxes. Designed to represent the Emirati heritage of Al Sadu weavers, these boxes include a variety of light bites, sandwiches, sweet treats, and traditional dates.
Support for Umrah Passengers
Emirates will serve Ramadan boxes on flights catering to Umrah groups traveling to Jeddah and Medina. Additionally, passengers can check in one bottle of Islamic holy water ‘ZAMZAM’ at designated airports.
Ramadan Content on Emirates Ice
Throughout Ramadan, Emirates Ice will feature special religious content in Arabic, Urdu, and Hindi, as well as popular series and dramas dubbed in Arabic. Passengers can also access the Holy Qur’an on ice.
Ramadan Awareness Training
Emirates provides Ramadan awareness training for its cabin crew and ground teams, ensuring they understand the cultural significance and practices associated with the Holy Month, and are equipped to provide excellent service to Muslim customers.
