Reggae dancehall legend Buju Banton is grieving the tragic loss of his 20-year-old son, Miles Myrie, whose passing has been confirmed by the music icon himself.
Taking to social media on Thursday, April 4, Buju Banton shared a poignant tribute to his late son, expressing his sorrow with the words, “Sip papa God knows.”
Confirming the heartbreaking news to Jamaica Observer, Miles’ brother Jahazeil Myrie shared a heartfelt sentiment about his sibling’s passing. “It is not my thing to say, it is not my job personally to give out any personal information about Miles, my father is the one who should share any details, but Miles is an hortical yute, his soul was clean, so I had to say something,” Jahazeil expressed.
Alongside his words, Jahazeil shared a photo of himself with Miles on his Instagram Stories, accompanied by Popcaan’s poignant single “Only Jah Know” and a broken heart emoji, indicating his deep sense of loss.
Gramps Morgan, another prominent figure in the reggae community, offered his condolences to Buju Banton and his family, expressing solidarity and support during this difficult time. “Mighty my heart is with you bredda prayers with you the mom and family stay strong mi bredda!!” Morgan captioned his tribute.
