Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong’o has made changes to his county executive committee by dismissing two members without providing reasons for their removal.
In a statement to the media on Friday, Nyong’o announced the dismissal of Maryline Agwa, who served as the CECM for water, environment, natural resources, and climate change, and Dr. Kennedy Hongo, who served as the CECM for lands, physical planning, housing, and urban development.
Nyong’o appointed John Awiti, the current CECM for education, technical training, innovation, and social services, to serve in an acting capacity as the CECM for lands, physical planning, housing, and urban development. Additionally, Judith Oluoch, the current CECM for public service, county administration, and participatory development, will serve in an acting capacity as the CECM for water, environment, natural resources, and climate change.
These changes take immediate effect. It’s worth noting that Governor Nyong’o had not made any changes to his cabinet since the beginning of his second term in office.
