Adult content companies Pornhub, Stripchat, and XVideos are required to conduct risk assessment reports and implement measures to address systemic risks associated with their services to comply with new EU online content regulations, announced the European Commission on Friday.
These three companies were classified as very large online platforms last December under the Digital Services Act (DSA), which mandates them to take more stringent actions to remove illegal and harmful content from their platforms.
According to the EU executive, Pornhub and Stripchat must adhere to these DSA obligations, among the strictest, by April 21, while XVideos must comply by April 23.
In addition to these requirements, the companies are also obligated to fulfill additional transparency requirements, including those related to advertisements, and provide access to data for researchers.
