The first ever Kamba online concert in Kenya is here. The one of a kind showcase will present three of the biggest mainstream Kamba artistes live on one stage.
The electrical convergence of the three artistes will be streamed directly through Trace Eastern Africa Facebook and You Tube pages on Saturday September 26 from 9:00pm.
Viewers should be ready to break a sweat to popular hit songs like fundamentals from the reigning king of Kamba Music Ken wa Maria, ka main switch by Alphonse Kioko aka Maima and slay queen by the ever thrilling Alex Katombi.
This concert is the second episode in the wake of the new Trace Live series dubbed Trace Cultural which is a celebration of the vibrant cultural and local vernacular music scene.
“The Trace cultural festival season is creating a platform that will allow vernacular artistes to establish a unique cultural identity using the sounds of unique cultural instruments accompanied by a contemporary band in a mash up setting that is contemporary” said Danny Mucira, MD Trace Eastern Africa adding that it is necessary that Kenya and the rest of the world see that vernacular music transcends the boundaries of tribalism.
The last Trace live cultural online show took over thousands of screens with the live show Ohangla recording high views of over 68,000 on Facebook alone.
These cultural musical showcases are part of a bigger plan to empower artistes and promote their skills during the Covid-19 pandemic that has seen many artistes slump into economic depression with the shutting down of physical events. Trace Live is proudly sponsored by Safaricom.
