The mother of 12-year-old Kennedy Onyango has expressed her pain after receiving the postmortem report of her late son.
Onyango was shot during anti-Finance Bill protests in Rongai, Kajiado county last week. Addressing the media, Josinta Anyango emphasized her son’s innocence, asserting that he could not have been part of the protests.
The postmortem examination, conducted by government pathologist Peter Ndegwa, revealed that Onyango was shot once in the shoulder. Ndegwa stated that Onyango died of severe hemorrhage caused by a long-range bullet wound. “Kennedy Onyango’s death was the result of severe hemorrhage and the nature of the bullet wound indicates that it was fired from a long range. This is contrary to reports that have been going around that Kennedy was shot eight times,” Ndegwa said on Monday.
Anyango shared that her son was a promising artist with dreams of going to the United States to further pursue his talent. “I lack words to describe how I am feeling; my son was killed in the most gruesome manner,” she said. She called for justice for her son.
