According to the detectives, they analysed forensic evidence that led them to Facebook, where Masumbuko had befriended the minor before luring her to his house.
He is said to have cohabited with the girl for a period before he facilitated her escape to her aunt’s home in Nyakach.
The suspect who is also known as “Vasco” had shaved his dreadlocks after the girl was reported missing.
Detectives now believe this was an ill-informed attempt at disguising himself.
The DCI has asked parents to be vigilant in monitoring the sites their children are visiting especially now that more kids are taking classes online.
At the same time, warned culprits who prey on minors that their evil days are soon coming to an end.
Earlier, Citizen Digital reported that the Class 8 pupil who went missing from her parent’s Upper Hill home had been found at her aunt’s home in Nyakach.
Her parents had reported her missing on October 16 amid suspicion that she had been lured by an online fraudster posing as a tutor.
They had also found exam answer sheets that had been marked, graded by an unknown tutor.
