Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko is set to remain at the Nairobi hospital where he’s undergoing treatment before the Kahawa Law Courts can rule on a request to detain him for 30 days pending conclusion of investigations on Wednesday.
After the court, Sonko was escorted back to the facility under tight security by the Anti-terror Police Unit.
The Governor was rushed to the hospital after complaining of stomach pains on Monday evening.
Meanwhile, the court directed his doctors to submit, “a comprehensive report about his health tomorrow.”
Sonko is facing terror related charges before Chief Magistrate Diana Mochache.
Detectives accuses Sonko of arming a militia group with a motive of destabilizing the national security.
So far, 9 of his aides linked with the alleged plan have been arrested.
Earlier Tuesday, a Kiambu court released him on a Sh300,000 bail on a different case, where he’s facing among other things assault charges.
