The level of insecurity inside the Gateway Mall in Mlolongo has raised concerns among even the security agents at the premises.
Enock Wanaswa the head of security at the shopping mall says that authorities are not handling the matter with the seriousness it deserves.
Wanaswa said that a gang that was recently apprehended after stealing a vehicle from the premises were recently released by the Mavoko law courts under circumstances they do not understand.
“Recently there was a case where thieves tried to steal a car by breaking in but luckily the boda boda operators around saw them and alerted us. Police officers n site then arrested them and took them to Mlolongo police station only for them to be released by Mavoko law courts,” he said
Wanaswa also said that they have noticed there is a cartel operating around the area stealing cars and valuables left in the cars.
He says they recently got hold of a gang of three among them a lady who had a special device of opening car doors.
He is now calling on security agencies to unearth the cartel adding that even victims who were robbed at the premises should unveil themselves to authorities ti help with investigation.
The management has since up scaled their security system to try and curb the cartels.
