Milimani magistrate court has sentenced quack doctor Mugo wa Wairimu to 29 years and six months in prison for administering drugs to clients in order to commit sexual offenses against them and operating an illegal clinic.
Chief magistrate Wendy Kagendo said that “he is a danger the society and ought to be kept away for a long time”.
“He abused the knowledge he acquired on medical and health science to harm hapless women,” Kagendo said.
Kageni found Mugo guilty of 10 of the 12 counts against him on Thursday.
He was found guilty by the court of running an illegal clinic and illegally giving drugs to his patients.
Wendy claimed that the prosecution’s case against him was conclusively established.

However, due to a lack of evidence, he was found not guilty of the charges against him for raping his patient and illegally hiring two students to work at his clinic.
In his defense, Mugo had pleaded with the magistrate to exonerate him due to a lack of proof.
He argued that the woman who claimed he raped her at his clinic was someone he had never met.
Mugo had earlier pleaded with the court for leniency, citing that he was supporting a family and his elderly parents.
