It’s been received as the most unusual pairing of music taste by fans across the world and continues to win new ground daily.
The single, entitled ‘Chuki’, is a collaborative project with vocals adorned by Kenya’s Idd Aziz, co-produced by esteemed South African artist Tekniq and is the lead single of Euggy’s eagerly anticipated extended play record.
The deep house hit single was influenced by Afro-indigenous rhumba music & vintage East African tracks, prominent Kenyan house music producer/DJ, Euggy, who reworked a classic, written by Nairobi based, veteran band Les Wanyika.
“I was listening to Sina Makosa when I got the inspiration to create Chuki.” House music producer and Dj, Euggy said.”

The Afro House track is managed and influenced by Gondwana Ke record label which solidified Euggy’s place amongst the pioneers of the electronic music scene in Kenya.
The imprint enjoyed notable releases early on from; Da Capo, Argento Dust, SURAJ and saw huge success with Karyendasoul’s ‘Waka’ track.
Following the early success of the label, Euggy, along with his label partners, set out to curate and produce the most popular electronic music showcase event in Nairobi.
The record label has released original compositions in partnership with other artists such as Ayrosh, Winyo, Akoth Jumadi, Olith Ratego and now, Idd Aziz & TekniQ .
“I joined the record label in 2016 as a Dj. Almost a year later we launched the record label and residency by the national park of Nairobi,” Euggy continued.
“The record label has been a bridge to us and other African artists.”
Mix master & South African, Thabang Ntuli is the prodigy of emerging industry talent. Known by his stage name e “TekniQ” which greatly describes his creative versatility in music.
He emerged in the wake of the influence of localized jazz musicians and the South African Afro-Pop culture.
The hit song is not his first collaboration with Gondwana record label but has also shared a stage with some of its artists together including Prince Kaybee, Akoth Jumadi, Sun El Musician, and Desiree to mention a few.
“Chuki has the potential of being the greatest hit in Africa,” TekniQ said. ” The best African electronic music showcases the cultural aspects and the track brings that out proficiently.”
Vocalist Idd Aziz was the perfect fit since his voice and articulation of the Swahili phrases in ‘Chuki’ proves that right.
He grew his musical experiences through collaborations with renowned musicians of varying styles and genres including Heing Siumaro, the Trondheim Orchestra as well as African greats like Angelique Kidjo, Salif Keita, Alpha Blondy, and Youssou N’Dour while touring Europe at the age 15.
In 2014, he relocated back to Kenya and was immediately immersed in performances, collaborations, and being one of the most sought-after studio sessions and backing percussion players.
He released his hit single ‘Come Dada’ featuring Kenyan hip hop artist Kaligraph Jones and was part of the Kenyan delegation of musicians who performed at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington DC.
