Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance allied MPs have walked out of the National Assembly after Treasury and National Planning CS Njuguna Ndung’u stood up to read his budget statement.
The MPs also booed at the CS as he continued reading the budget before they walked out.
Ndung’u continued reading the budget statement under the direction of Speaker Moses Wetang’ula.
The Azimio walkout was spearheaded by Minority leader Opiyo Wandayi.
This is President William Ruto’s first budget as head of state.
Ndung’ u arrived in Parliament on Thursday afternoon for the announcement of 2023-24 Budget estimates.
The CS was accompanied by PS Chris Kiptoo among others.
Ndung’ u started his journey along Harambee Avenue from his office at Treasury Buildings.
