Dennis Itumbi has changed his Twitter bio after the High Court on Monday declared President William Ruto’s appointment of the 50 Chief Administrative Secretaries unconstitutional.
Itumbi was among the CAS sworn in at State House on March 23.
He has removed the role he had indicated on his social media which reflected his new role as the Chief Administrative Secretary for ICT.
He had put it immediately after the swearing-in.
Itumbi has edited it to ‘Come Here, Go There… The Home of Dreams… Home of Ideas… Connecting Dreams to Opportunity’.
The High Court on Monday quashed the appointment of the 50 CAS appointed by President Ruto, terming it unconstitutional.
The three judge-bench argued that even though there was public participation for the initial 23 positions, the same was not done for the newly created 27 positions.
The case was determined by Justices Hedwig Ong’udi, Kanyi Kimondo, and Aleem Visram.
“The newly-created office and fresh complement of 50 had to comply with the constitution and the criteria set out earlier in Okiyah’s case in order to be lawfully established,” the court ruled.
“They did not comply. The entire complement of 50 CASs is therefore unconstitutional.”
