In an NTV exclusive interview, Teresia Wanjiru, the woman arrested in connection with the millions of shillings in Ngara, says there has been a plot to ensure she stays promising her all will be fine.
The latest comes ahead of a heated legal battle in the offing after advocates allied to the Sheria Mtaani initiative took up Teresia Wanjiru’s case, signing up to represent her in the case against her by the State.
She slept in the cells again for the seventh night on Sunday.
Twenty-six bags of cannabis and Sh13 million are at the heart of the state’s case against Wanjiru.
She is accused as a notorious drug dealer in Ngara. But locals are hearing none of that.
In an exclusive interview, Teresia Wanjiru told NTV last evening that she received a phone call from the wanted suspected drug dealer Nancy Kigunzu questioning her on several issues concerning the detained consignment.
Wanjiru’s lawyers have confirmed the phone call, arguing there has been a plot by the police to create a connection between the real Mathee wa Ngara and Wanjiru.
The phone call sought to find out what she’d told the police.
Teresia Wanjiru had earlier told NTV, that police officers, apprehensive of the publicity her family was giving the whole arrest, had promised her freedom, just a day after being arraigned.
