Orange Democratic Movement (ODM)party leader Raila Odinga has finally launched his much anticipated campaign anthem, which is expected to hype his bid for the Presidency.
The hit song, which is a rendition of the now popular ‘Leo ni Leo’ by Benga composer, instrumentalist and singer Emmanuel Musindi, will be the theme song for Odinga’s rallies in the country.
In the video released at 11.oo am on Tuesday , Odinga is seen singing surrounded by band members who are dancing to the tune.
In the 3 minutes and18 seconds song, Raila later ushers in the second stanza of the song with a heavy baritone tone before the other band members join in.
The Azimio La Umoja leader later leaves vocal duty and retreats to the background to showcase his moves.
In another take, Raila can be seen playing football with his grandsons.
The song whose audio was recorded at FP Records in Kawangware by upcoming producer Festus Papai aka Papa FP was shot in Karen and Kawangware areas in Nairobi and the video directed by Nezzoh Montana.
Raila is currently in India with his daughter, and according to the shoot’s music director Majimaji, Winnie is the one who got his father aboard the project.
The son is one of four songs that the ODM chief is expected collaborate with artists including singer Trio Mio before the August elections.
In his campaigns, Raila has been centering on the youth pledging that if elected he will help in transforming their economic fortunes.
The ODM leader has always used songs to attract a huge following in his campaigns, the first being in 2002 when the UNBWOGABLE song dominated airwaves.
In 2017, Raila used the MAMBO YABADILIKA and has lately gone for Lucky Dube’s NO ONE CAN STOP REGGAE.
Odinga is currently outside the country in India but is expected back on Wednesday.
