The driver of the ill-fated Classic Kings of Congo bus was involved in a crash, that killed 15 people at the Twin Bridge area on the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway early this week, was on Thursday charged with 15 counts of murder, at a Molo Court.
Clement Kiarie, alias Taylor, 34, appeared before Principal Magistrate Daisy Mose where he was charged with 15 counts of causing death, one count of contravening the use of insurance, one charge of reckless driving and one other charge for carrying 41 uninsured passengers.
He denied all the counts and was released on a Sh1 million bond or a surety of a similar amount.
The prosecution had asked the court for stringent bond terms since the suspect escaped immediately after the grisly accident.
The court heard that the ill-fated bus had foreign registration numbers, under a Ugandan company.

Kiarie, who was driving the 14-seater bus, was arrested on Wednesday evening and detained at the Mau Summit Police Station before he was arraigned in court.
Eight adults and seven children, including five girls and two boys, died in the 3am Tuesday morning accident.
Seven other passengers were seriously injured in the fatal crash, while 38 others were treated for minor injuries.
The injured were taken to Molo Sub-County Hospital, and the bodies of the deceased were moved to the mortuary at the same facility.
In the grisly accident, a 14-seater Northways Shuttle collided head-on with the bus, claiming 15 lives on the spot.
All the occupants of the Northways shuttle died during the horrific accident.
