Former KTN news anchor Michael Oyier passed away on Friday while undergoing treatment at a Nairobi hospital. However, details regarding the exact illness he was suffering from before his death were not provided.
Oyier began his career in 2002 when he joined Standard Group Media as a news anchor at KTN. He worked at KTN for nine years until 2012 when he left the organization. During his time at Standard Group, he also contributed to the editorial department, writing several pieces while continuing his role as a news anchor.
With over 20 years of experience in journalism, Oyier was known for his versatility. He was not only a skilled news anchor but also a public speaker, moderator, master of ceremonies, facilitator, voice-over artist, singer, and actor.
In addition to his work in journalism, Oyier was a certified leadership coach with over five years of experience. He worked with leaders and leadership teams both locally and internationally, providing guidance and coaching.
