Grandpa records founder and CEO Noah Yusuf, alias Refigah on Thursday received his nomination certificate from the Democratic Action Party Kenya (DAP-K) to vie for the Kibra parliamentary seat.
Refigah was over the moon as he received his nomination certificate and said he intends to ‘deliver’ the people of Kibra.
After receiving his certificate, the former Grandpa boss who retired from the industry last year said that it was time to officially start the journey of liberating the people of Kibra begins.
“We officially received our DAP-K nomination certificate to signify a new beginning full of hope to the great people of Kibra. On that note, we take this opportunity to thank my family, our friends, supporters and the silent majority who cheered me on to offer myself as your Member of Parliament, a call I have humbly accepted,” he said.
He said that their aim is to deliver to the people of Kibra irrespective of their religion, tribe, or political inclination. This is because, as people of Kibra, they are known to speak in unison which is a great asset that they must continue investing in and enjoying.
The seat is currently held by Imran Okoth, of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) who was elected into office through a by-election on 8 November 2019
The constituency has five wards – Sarang’ombe, with the highest number of registered voters at 30,754, Woodley/Kenyatta Golf Course (28,066), Makina (25,695), Laini Saba (17,455) while Lindi has 16,688.
