Mombasa Governor, Ali Hassan Joho, on Friday evening threw a star-studded birthday party at a private location in the Coastal city of Mombasa.
Joho turned 45 and spent millions of shillings on the lavish party which drew celebrities from different sectors, government and entertainment.
His close friends were in attendance too.
Kiss FM presenter and comedian, Felix Odiwour (Jalang’o) was the emcee at the event.
Other notable celebrities were musicians Nviiri the Storyteller, Masauti and Bensoul.
Joho also celebrated getting 1 million followers on Instagram.
It was noted that Joho kept his message keeping brief and precise, unlike his previous birthdays where he would share details of the event.
According to sources, Joho changed his lifestyle and is leaning more towards privacy after he announced his presidential ambitions.
While announcing his presidential bid, Joho said he has supported others for a long time and it is time for them to support him too.
“I will run for the seat and no one will oppose me. Even we from the Coast are entitled to the seat. We have supported others for a long time, and it is time for them to support us too. It cannot be that we support them every other time,” he said.
Joho’s guests jammed to new hits like Nairobi by Bensoul and also played a few team bonding games as they enjoyed the night.
The event was also invite-only as Joho wanted the attendees to strictly observe Covid-19 regulations. Joho cut a cake and ate dinner with his guests before they departed, minutes to curfew time.
