Capital FM’s Group Commercial Director Farida Idris Mohamed has been charged before Milimani Law Courts with threatening to kill her former lover.
Appearing before Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, Farida denied seven criminal charges of threatening to kill her former boyfriend Hussein Aila Amaro, who is also a business partner.
The media house director is said to have committed the offence through a series of threatening messages.
According to the prosecution, Farida sent her former lover messages on June 14, 2019, that she would eliminate him together with his current girlfriend identified as Swarna.
In count one, Farida was charged that on June 14, 2019, at 10:14 hours at an unknown place within the Republic of Kenya without lawful excuses caused Hussein to receive a short message through Safaricom line to wit “now tell me what the fuck you will do to me and you see l will finish you and bloody Swarna combined,” threatening to kill him.
“On June 14, 2019, at 10:14 hours at an unknown place within the Republic of Kenya without lawful excuses Farida directly caused Hussein to receive a short message (SMS) to his Safaricom line to wit ‘l will kill you with my own hands and drag your body on hot tarmac until nobody can recognize that rotten body of yours then burry you before you proceed to hell’ threatening to kill him,” the charge sheet states.
Farida was also charged with sending two other threatening messages to the complainant on June 15, 2019, at 19:32 hours.
She charged with threatening to kill contrary to section 223(1) of the penal code, Cap 63 of the Laws of Kenya.
She was released on a cash bail of Sh100,000 and a bond of Sh300,000, her case will be up for mention on May 8, 2023.
