The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) written examinations have kicked off.
About 903,260 candidates who registered for this year’s KCSE across the country will Monday morning from 8 am be tackling the Chemistry paper and English (functional skills) in the afternoon at 2pm.
The students will write English paper 2 (Comprehension, Literary Appreciation & Grammar) tomorrow, Tuesday from 2 pm to 4.30 pm.
The national exam is set to run till November 24 ending with Physics practicals.
Practicals including French, German, Arabic orals, Kenya Sign Language, music among others were done last week.
The government has affirmed that it has a multiagency team to ensure that all systems are in place to guarantee the credibility of the examinations and that the process runs smoothly.
Basic Education Principal Secretary Dr. Belio Kipsang is supervising the distribution of KCSE 2023 Examination materials at the Westlands Subcounty Container, Nairobi, on Waiyaki Way.
The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) is using 567 distribution containers for KCSE, which is an additional 82 compared to last year.
