The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has issued a notice to all registered taxpayers, urging them to update their information on the iTax platform.
This update is part of an ongoing data clean-up exercise aimed at maintaining the accuracy and integrity of taxpayer records.
KRA has specified that taxpayers should update their phone numbers, physical addresses, email addresses, business locations, residency statuses, and any directorships or partnerships held.
In their notice, KRA emphasized that the exercise is intended to improve service delivery and ensure the integrity of the taxpayer register. “KRA would like to notify all registered taxpayers of the ongoing data clean-up exercise of taxpayer’s PIN registration details. The exercise aims to ensure the integrity of the taxpayers register to enhance service delivery to all taxpayers,” the notice read.
To facilitate this process, the iTax system has introduced a one-time password (OTP) feature for updating contact information. Upon logging into the iTax website, the registered mobile number will be displayed, and an OTP will be sent to validate the contact details.
If the displayed number is incorrect, taxpayers will need to enter the correct mobile number. An OTP will then be sent to this new number, allowing the taxpayer to access and update their information on the system.
