Kenya Airways (KQ) has announced the introduction of two new flights to North America, aimed at meeting the rising travel demand and promoting tourism during the upcoming summer season.
With these new flights, the total number of flights to New York will increase to nine, according to the airline. Kenya Airways stated that the additional flights will offer travelers more options, with departures from New York available on Thursdays and Saturdays, both in the morning and afternoon.
Highlighting the convenience for passengers, the airline mentioned that the new schedule allows for same-day arrival in New York, with morning departures from Nairobi and afternoon arrivals in the United States.
Moreover, Kenya Airways emphasized its partnership with the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) to strategically position Kenya as a preferred tourist destination in North America. The airline plans to showcase Kenya and stimulate travel demand through a trade roadshow scheduled to take place from March 19th to 21st in New York, Boston, and Toronto.
The Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife reported a significant increase in international tourist arrivals to Kenya, reaching 1.75 million in 2023 compared to 1.48 million in the previous year. This surge in arrivals indicates growing demand and is expected to contribute to an annual increase of 825,000 international tourist arrivals.
The additional flights to New York will operate from June 15th to September 24th, providing travelers with more options and flexibility during the peak summer travel period.
