Education Cabinet Secretary Professor George Magoha has assured parents and guardians that schools will reopen as earlier scheduled, allaying fears that the current high Covid-19 infection rate in the country could prolong the reopening of schools.
Speaking in Kiambu County while supervising the opening of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams container in Kiambu Town Monday, the CS said current data shows a decline in Covid-19 infections, thus there are no plans to further interfering with the schools’ calendar.
He said plans are on course to ensure Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results are out in the next two weeks to allow for timely form one selection.
He again dismissed allegations of exam leakage in this year national examinations noting attempts of early exposure have been nipped in the bud with suspects already facing prosecution.
Magoha said the Ministry of Education and that of Interior and Coordination of National Government are prepared to deliver exams despite the heavy rains already being experienced in some parts of the Country.
