The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) says it has arrested a man claiming to be the Personal Assistant (PA) to a Principal Secretary and had requested for a bribe.
Confirming the arrest, EACC Spokesperson Eric Ngumbi said the suspect, Mark Kipruto Kuto requested a Sh1.5 million bride from the complainant allegedly on behalf of the Principal Secretary, in exchange for assistance to secure the position of Chief Executive Officer of South Nyanza Sugar Company which was advertised on December 5, 2023.
“He is currently held at Integrity Centre for processing and will later be escorted to Kilimani Police Station for custody,” he said.
Meanwhile, in Bungoma, EACC officers arrested two police officers namely over bribery claims.
The cops, Charles Ogola and Vincent Orwa were arrested for allegedly demanding a bribe to release a motorcycle they had impounded and detained at Kanduyi Police Patrol Base in Bungoma County claiming that it had been stolen.
