A 42-year-old man currently recuperates from injuries sustained at Yala Sub-county Hospital in Siaya County following a vicious attack by his neighbor. Thomas Oluoch finds himself in this dire situation after allegedly giving his neighbor’s chicken to a friend at Kodiaga market in Gem.
Reportedly, Oluoch received the hen from his neighbor, identified only as Shida, before purportedly passing it on to Shida’s acquaintance known as Rasta. This seemingly innocent act triggered a violent response from Shida, resulting in Oluoch suffering severe head injuries.
Siaya County Police Commander, Mr. Cleti Kimaiyo, disclosed that Miriam Nyende of Kodiaga Market reported the incident at Mutumbu Police post. Nyende informed authorities that her cousin, Thomas Oluoch, had been assaulted, sustaining a significant head wound. Upon arrival, police found that the assailant, Shida, had attacked Oluoch with a machete following a dispute over the whereabouts of the hen.
The attack left Oluoch in critical condition, necessitating his admission to Yala Sub-county Hospital. Meanwhile, investigations into the incident have commenced.
Mr. Kimaiyo confirmed the assault, revealing that the assailant fled the scene with the weapon, evading capture thus far. As authorities pursue the perpetrator, Oluoch remains under medical care, grappling with the repercussions of this senseless act of violence.
