Police are looking for a gang that stabbed and killed a 25-year-old man in a riot in Huruma area, Nairobi.
Immanuel Ochieng succumbed to stab wounds in hospital on Saturday two days after he had been stabbed by a mob.
He was attacked and stabbed when a group of youth went on the rampage in the area over the killing of a carwash dealer in a police operation.
A mob went on the rampage and attacked pedestrians and motorists indiscriminately including Ochieng.
He was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to neck and head injuries.
The rioting mob blocked roads in the area for two days over the killing of Galkano Hassan Yusuf.
Police say they are looking for the mob behind the incident.
Elsewhere, police say they are looking for a gang that blocked Outering Road on Sunday and robbed several motorists.
A group of youths barricaded the road using stones on Sunday morning and started to rob motorists.
At least five motorists were robbed of their cash and valuables during the drama.
One driver said he was stabbed in the head as he tried to fight off the gang.
Police were called to the scene and managed to clear the scene but no arrest was made.
Police say the gang’s action is a continuation of last week’s riots in the area.
More police officers have been deployed to the area to tame cases of insecurity that are on the rise, police said.
Locals say they are being terrorized by mobs and have been calling on authorities to address the menace.
