Murder suspect John Matara will today appear before Justice Kanyi Kimondo for a hearing on the bail application.
Matara stands accused of the murder of socialite Starlet Wahu at the High Court in Nairobi and is currently detained at the Industrial Area Remand and Allocation Centre.
In his bid for release on bond, Matara has argued that he poses no flight risk, asserting that he has a fixed place of abode.

However, the state has opposed his application, citing concerns about the need to safeguard witnesses in the case and ongoing investigative procedures.
Following a directive from the court on February 26, both parties were required to submit their arguments and responses, along with a probation report, ahead of today’s session.
