Safaricom has announced the exit of Michael Joseph as the company’s Board director.
In a notice by company secretary Kathryne Maundu, Michael’s exit is effective August 1.
Michael leaves the company after serving in different capacities for over 23 years.
“The Board announces the resignation of Mr Michael Joseph as a Director in the Board of Safaricom PLC, effective August 1, 2023,” the notice reads.
“The Board takes this opportunity to thank Michael for his dedicated service, sound advice and commitment to Safaricom and wishes him the very best for the future.”
The Board said Michael leaves the Board to focus on other ventures in his life including continuing his role as Chairman of Kenya Airways and being a director in various organizations.
“He will continue to pursue his passions in matters of conservation and community service.”
Michael Joseph served in various capacities at Safaricom since 2000 including being the General Manager, Chief Executive Officer, Director as well as Chairman of the Board.
He also served as a member and Chairman of various committees of the Board.
