Nigerian musician and songwriter Tems has landed her first Grammy award at the just concluded award ceremony.
The singer won “Best Melodic Rap Performance” alongside American rappers Drake and Future for her work on the song “Wait for U”. The track beat songs from other artists including Jack Harlow (“First Class”), Kendrick Lamar (“Die Hard”), Latto (“Big Energy (Live)”), DJ Khaled (“Beautiful”).
Tems is also credited on Beyonce’s “Renaissance” album which won “Best Dance/Electronic Music Album” at the ceremony making Beyonce one of the most awarded musicians in Grammy’s history.
The singer made waves last year for her work on the “Wakanda Forever” soundtrack. She wrote one of the most popular songs from the album called “Lift Me Up” performed by Rihanna.
