Kenyan artist Nviiri The Storyteller, born Nviiri Sande, has officially parted ways with Sol Generation Records after a significant five-year journey with the label.
In a heartfelt statement titled ‘Unveiling new chapter in musical odyssey,’ the acclaimed ‘Kitenge’ crooner expressed profound gratitude for the support, mentorship, and platform provided by Sol Generation and its visionary force, Sauti Sol. Nviiri shared his intention to carry forward the invaluable lessons, cherish the memorable experiences, and uphold the strong bonds forged during his tenure with Sol Generation.
The versatile musician also expressed his excitement for the forthcoming phase in his musical journey, promising to unleash limitless creativity, daring innovation, and global resonance. Nviiri extended heartfelt appreciation to Sauti Sol and Sol Generation Records for shaping his trajectory and propelling him to greater heights.
Concurrently, Nviiri introduced his new management team, with Maisha Wirth stepping in as his immediate manager, Jamie Alderson as the international manager, and Indiya Oliver taking charge as the bookings manager.
Nviiri’s association with Sauti Sol’s owned record label began in 2019. In an earlier interview with Nairobi News, Bien divulged that both Bensoul and Nviiri would eventually transition out of Sauti Sol by 2024 and 2025, respectively, referring to them as Sauti Sol’s protégés.
He emphasized that they still had time with the record label, working on individual albums slated for release by the year’s end. Furthermore, Bien disclosed plans to welcome new talents to the label, following the successful collaborations with Bensoul and Nviiri spanning over three years. He underscored the meticulous process of scouting and signing new artists, highlighting the importance of thorough deliberation and engagement before finalizing any decisions.
