Esteemed journalist Olive Burrows is set to join the Citizen Weekend anchoring team officially on Saturday, June 1, 2024.
She will grace the screens of Citizen TV on Saturdays and Sundays, co-hosting the Sunday Live prime-time show alongside media luminary Jeff Koinange.
Burrows steps into the role previously held by the dynamic Victoria Rubadiri, who embarked on a new journey with CNN in April. Expressing her enthusiasm for her new role, Burrows pledges to uphold professionalism and excellence in her line of duty.
“I am incredibly honored to have joined the team. They have received me with open arms. And as iron sharpens iron, I look forward to a season of growth,” she conveyed to Citizen Digital.
With a strong commitment to promoting good governance and accountability, Burrows aims to provide the Kenyan perspective on global events through her news reports on Citizen Weekend. Reflecting on the lessons learned during the Covid pandemic, she emphasizes the interconnectedness of the world and the importance of staying informed about global developments.
Prior to joining Royal Media Services (RMS), Burrows served as a prime time news anchor at the Nation Media Group for six years, following her tenure at Capital FM. Her wealth of experience and dedication to journalistic integrity make her a valuable addition to the Citizen Weekend team.
