The local travel industry is set to rip big as Dubai’s Department for Economy and Tourism, (DET), this week makes its pit stop in Kenya. This comes after successful editions in Nigeria and South Africa, Ethiopia, Uganda, and Kenya.
Structured as a series of high level meetings, trainings and workshops with various travel partner, the roadshows are an indicator of just how strategic Kenya and and indeed Africa is as a tourist market.
Assistant Manager, International Relations (Africa) for Dubai Tourism (DET), Mr Tareq Binbrek.
“East Africa is a significant market for Dubai Tourism and is host to some of our largest travel numbers from Africa. This is our first roadshow post pandemic, and we are happy to be back.”
The team will also have various talks and meetings with local celebrities and the media fraternity to foster great partnerships. Kenya has over the years grown its arts and culture sector which has created great opportunities for content creators.
One of the superstars who is expected to meet with the delegation is 22 year old Azziad Assenya, who thanks to a dance challenge has become a leading social media influencer, radio host and celebrated actor.
Today she commands a hefty fee for her online persona with a myriad of clients lining up to patronize her on her page.
“We look forward to working closely with our trade partners and speaking directly to our audience,” Mr Tareq Binbrek, says. “A lot of new and exciting things have come up in Dubai since our last visit to this region and so we look forward to sharing the good news with all of our East African travelers.”
