Kilifi Governor Gideon Mung’aro has visited the home of the murdered Kilifi Chief Officer for Mining and Blue Economy, Rahab Karisa.
The Kilifi County Commander Fatuma Hadi confirmed that the deceased was stabbed to death by her house help at her apartment in Mnarani at around 5 am under mysterious circumstances.
She said police officers have launched searching for the housemaid who fled after the assault so as to know the motives of the death.
The chief officer had reportedly returned to the country from a county workshop in Italy.
“Police have commenced investigation into the matter so as to arrest the culprit. We will give details on the matters once we conclude our facts,” she said.

The body of the deceased has been moved to Kilifi County referral hospital pending postmortem.
A housekeeper has been implicated in the murder, as reported by the guard of Karisa’s house, who stated that the housekeeper stabbed her before fleeing the scene.
