The National Police Service (NPS) has announced the recovery of 2,658 bullets in Laikipia county following an intelligence-led operation.
The operation, which targeted the Minjore area in Kirima sub-county, resulted in the arrest of a couple believed to be the owners of the ammunition.
In a statement released on Thursday, the NPS expressed gratitude to the public for the success of the operation. This recovery underscores ongoing efforts to combat illegal firearms possession, particularly in areas prone to banditry and livestock rustling.
Laikipia County has been grappling with security challenges related to banditry, making the recovery of illegal weapons a top priority for law enforcement agencies.
