The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has submitted a list of 20 names to President William Ruto for the appointment of High Court Judges.
Chief Justice Martha Koome, Chairperson of the JSC, announced that the panel finalized the list after conducting interviews between April 3 and May 3 this year. The selection process involved reviewing 305 applications and shortlisting 100 candidates.
The transmission of these names comes as the Judiciary aims to improve service delivery by increasing its workforce.
President Ruto, on January 20, pledged to enhance the efficiency of the Judiciary by appointing additional judges to both the appellate and high courts of Kenya. He made this commitment during an inaugural Heads of Arms Summit, attended by National Assembly and Senate Speakers, as well as the Chief Justice.
